If you get confused feel free to comment and I'll try to explain it. I will also demonstrate how to assemble a 30 unit model (stellated. The form is just the same as if you made 30 Utopia-cube units, but the structure of the unit is quite different. This class serves as an introduction to Sonobe unit modular models - no prior modular. This unit has 90 angle at the lower pyramid. To make the ball you just need to keep adding onto this ring to make more pentagon rings and eventually a ball will form. Beautiful origami modular with spikes, that are separated from the 'ground'. Keep forming the ring until you have a pentagon shape as shown. Keep adding more units in this fashion to create more triangular peaks. Eventually a ring will start to form, this is a good thing. The miniFCU, or Flight Control Unit, enhances your flight simulation experience by offering intuitive, precise control plus realistic tactile feedback. The three pieces together will form a triangular peak. These models are very unusual and colorful, and always will amaze you with its diversity. Once Piece 3 has been tucked into Piece 2, the pocket on Piece 3 will need to be opened so Piece 1 and be tucked inside, as shown in the seventh picture. Modular origami is a fairly new type of origami models which are created from multiple connected together identical (often) fragments or links. Open the pocket on Piece 2 so that Piece 3 can be tucked into it, fifth picture. You'll notice that the crease lines will match up to lock it in a little. Start by insetting Piece 2 into Piece 1, as in the second picture. There are various types of units, but regularity is often similar, so it's fun to imagine how they are made.Īnyway, 12 or 30 units are not so difficult to make, feel free to try them out.Once you have 30 units it's time to assemble them into a ball. 30 units: Modular from irregular paper Geometric and other shapes: Tomoko Fuse: Origami Design by Tomoko Fuse. This is a delightful model with curled edges and a protruding center. If you try to make the same thing, I recommend that you make one by one by bonding. Each one uses 30 units and they are all assembled in a similar fashion. It was so hard for me to make, because It will naturally collapse from the middle of making. I think it's good to understand the nature of polyhedra. I tried to find Platonic solid in “Kusudama” structure. On the other hand Origami is usually square, so it is not impossible but difficult to make equilateral triangles and pentagons. The shape of “Kusudama” is a star-shaped polyhedron. The majority of my modular designs are based on the dodecahedron or icosahedron and are assembled from 30 equal sized squaresalways without cutting or glue. ![]() After i boot it from original MacOs DVD i tried the following (1) Repair with Disk Utility - upon the process, two allert. You can click on devices, usb 2.0 (or 3.0) and look for the device. Dear all, I am having a serious problem with my and need a help urgently. Sorry for the somewhat late reply, I live in a different time zone. As soon as it mounts, you remove it safely, shutdown the virtual machine, or uncheck the device, reversing the step 1. If it doesnt automatically shows up on your Mac, you can unplug it and plug it again. The problem you can't do wipe or partition on the disk is that the disk is in use, that's why I said before to do the Spotlight Privacy thing. Now, this did not work so there is/are some other things still going on, there are most likely files in use. After doing that click on the Unmount button in the toolbar to see if the disk disappears from the Desktop. The easiest way around this problem seems to be to startup from a non working full system, what I mean with this, startup from an install disk or recovery, this uses no files on the disk and you should be able to wipe/partition it this time.īut, you can also do the following, you want to use the disk for files, why not just move everything to the trash, or better use terminal to remove all files on the disk. If that doesnt work then quit Disk Utility and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. At the prompt paste these lines individually pressing RETURN at the end of each line. Note: You may have to enter a password, the sudo command gives you root permissions and will delete everything. The reason I ask is Ive found out what my problem is when TM says its not able to do a backup. To partition and format the drive with Disk Utility, follow these steps: 1. Formatting the hard drive or partition scheme will recreate a new HFS file structure on the hard drive, which will be free from cryptic errors. "path to folder/file" without the quotes, you can just drag the folder on the terminal window, it will automatically add the path. Use Stellar Partition Manager when macOS can not format, erase and repair the Mac hard drive or a volume due to the couldn’t unmount disk error. I have another external drive plugged into my TM disk. Whenever I unmount the second drive, my next TM backup will not complete. I boot into the Recovery HD/Repair Disk and then TM will work perfectly until I unmount the second drive the next time. ![]() Its proper for the operating system to not unmount a volume if there is, on the volume, an open file that can not be closed.ĭouble left-click on the Mac HD, the internal Mac hard drive visible on the top-right corner of the desktop screen. In general, you can just open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. If you do this will all the folders at the root level it is clean and you can then use it for files. However, if your Mac doesn't start up all the way, or you want to repair the disk your Mac starts up from, open Disk Utility from macOS Recovery: Apple silicon : Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button. This way you don't need to erase anything. ![]() There are only certain combinations of neutrons and protons, which forms stable nuclei. ![]() These two forces compete, leading to various stability of nuclei. The number of electrons in each element’s electron shells, particularly the outermost valence shell, is the primary factor in determining its chemical bonding behavior. The configuration of these electrons follows from the principles of quantum mechanics. Since the number of electrons and their arrangement are responsible for the chemical behavior of atoms, the atomic numberidentifies the various chemical elements. Each electron is influenced by the electric fields produced by the positive nuclear charge and the other (Z – 1) negative electrons in the atom. Therefore, the number of electrons in neutral atom of Potassium is 19. The number of electrons in an electrically-neutral atom is the same as the number of protons in the nucleus. Very rarely (0.001% of the time) it will decay to Ar-40 by emitting a positron(β+)and a neutrino.About 89.28% of the time (10.72% is by electron capture), it decays to calcium-40 with emission of a beta particle(β−, an electron) with a maximum energy of 1.33 MeV and an antineutrino, which is an antiparticleto the neutrino.K-40 is a radioactive isotope of potassium which has a very long half-life of 1.251×10 9years and undergoes both types of beta decay. Traces of K-40 are found in all potassium, and it is the most common radioisotope in the human body. Potassium-40 is composed of 19 protons, 21 neutrons, and 19 electrons. Potassium-39 is composed of 19 protons, 20 neutrons, and 19 electrons. There are 25 known isotopes of potassium, three of which occur naturally: 39K (93.3%), 40K (0.0117%), and 41K (6.7%). How to make an orange juice and champagne Mimosa The result is better accuracy so long as you have good shooting skills. That process keeps the barrel closer to “true” on your target and allows the shooter to quickly adjust their aim and fire again. Because a muzzle brake helps to control and redirect the flow of gas as the bullet leaves the barrel, it helps to reduce bounce or wobble. Generally, the more powerful the round the more the bounce or wobble. Some types of guns have more bounce or wobble than others do. It also can push the barrel downward to counter the upward barrel movement after the round exits the barrel.Ģ.Improves accuracy – When you fire a bullet, gas is released from the burning of powder and a rapid increase of pressure causes the barrel of the gun to bounce or wobble. As the pathway of pressurized gas moves sideways and upwards, it decreases the backward push or recoil of the gun. That process occurs because a muzzle brake allows pressurized gas to escape sideways and when vented on the top, to move upwards. Benefits of a Muzzle Brakeġ.Reduced recoil – The biggest benefit of fitting your gun with a muzzle brake is to reduce recoil. Also, some shotgun barrels are not thick enough to cut threads for mounting a muzzle brake. However, a muzzle brake for a shotgun would need to be designed to not affect the blast pattern of the shot. There are muzzle brakes for pistols and the theory of what a muzzle brake does could be applied to a shotgun. Some people think of rifles as having muzzles and handguns as having barrels, but the reality is that the terms can be interchanged. The same device used on a pistol is referred to as a “compensator”. Weapons that Use a Muzzle BrakeĪ muzzle brake is used on rifles and generally on semi-automatic rifles such as an AR-15. ![]() In military combat scenarios, they add another benefit by lowering the likelihood of compromising one’s position in the dark. Flash guards are beneficial to shooters in low light conditions as they prevent the shooter’s vision from being obscured by bright light. A silencer may help or hinder accuracy.Ī muzzle brake also differs from a flash suppressor, flash guard or flash hider in that the brake provides recoil reduction on a weapon while the flash suppressor reduces the visual flash from firing a weapon. A muzzle brake is different from a silencer in that (1) a muzzle brake does not make your shot quiet – it is quite loud, (2) the movement of propellant gases are to the side or upwards with a muzzle brake whereas the gas tends to move forward with a silencer, and (3) muzzle brakes help to improve accuracy by diminishing muzzle movement during firing. It is designed to allow pressurized gas to escape the barrel in a sideways or upwards motion. Definition of a Muzzle BrakeĪ muzzle brake is a muzzle device that’s an add-on or upgrade to a barrel or muzzle. The process reduces the recoil of the gun to improve shooter accuracy by stabilizing barrel movement. ![]() A muzzle brake also has vents along the side and top, which allow the pressurized gas to escape upwards and to the side. Gun powder, when ignited, creates high pressure gas that pushes backward on the rifle as the bullet moves forward when you fire a round. ![]() A muzzle brake helps to diminish the felt recoil or reactionary force produced by the “action” or firing of the round. There is also a reaction – the recoil or the forcing of the gun backward. ![]() When you fire a bullet, it creates an action – the propelling of the projectile forward. It’s part of Newton’s third law of gravity which states, “that for every action there must be an equal opposite reaction.” For the bullet to move forward an equal pressure must push backward – that process is called recoiling. When a round has fired, the gas produced by the burning of powder pushes the gun backward. Their job is to redirect the flow of combustion gases after a round is fired. They can be applied to either a rifle or pistol but are commonly fitted to assault rifles. These are typically small tubular devices that attach to the tip of the barrel or muzzle. What is a Muzzle Brake?Ī muzzle brake is also called a recoil compensator.
